A Message from the President of the Board
Reboot Theatre Company 2017:
Hello Reboot Theatre community,
We have just come off a great year of producing our first full-fledged season. We started with the Seattle premiere of the beautiful musical, Fly By Night, and followed up with the hilarious classic, Private Lives. We were thrilled to share these two theatrical experiences with our audiences, continuing the mission of Reboot Theatre — invoking both gender fluid casting and sparking conversations.
We have made other great strides as well, including receiving our nonprofit status, securing an arts grant from the City of Seattle, and seeing an increased awareness of our brand by being named one of the top things to do for both Private Lives and Fly By Night in local publications such as The Stranger, Seattle Weekly, as well as attracting a reviewer from the Seattle Times. We have also qualified for pro-bono organizational consulting and look forward to taking advantage of that training in the early fall.
Despite these successes, in order to continue to grow at this impressive and exciting rate, we need to focus our efforts on building a stronger foundation, especially financially.
After much discussion, Reboot Theatre’s board has made the determination to focus the rest of 2017 on fundraising efforts instead of producing a full production in the fall.
We have set several benchmarks to reach by December 31st and we will keep you informed of how we are progressing.
Our goal is to be a welcoming and driving force in the Seattle theatre community for a long time. We want to be able to pay larger artist stipends, produce larger shows, and be able to afford venues to match. But in order to do that, we will need your help.
Here are ways you can help right now:
- Stay tuned and attend one of our upcoming fundraising events!
- Utilize the smile.amazon.com option when shopping on Amazon.com on your desktop computer.

Thank you all so much for your continued support of our company. In 2014, Producing Artistic Director, Jasmine Joshua dared to ask the question, “What if…?” and we hope to continue to be asking that question many more times over.
I know I speak for the entire board (Jasmine, Angela, Jeannette, Rebecca and myself) when I say that we couldn’t be prouder of the contributions Reboot made this past theatrical season, and how we have been able to engage with our audience and community at large.
